Bell Actuarial Consulting prepares every report in an entirely objective manner. This objectivity is extremely important to the longevity of our business. Expert witnesses who change their argument based on the party from whom they were engaged will invariably lose credibility with the court and, thus, the legal profession. In order to keep our services valuable, we insist on only advancing objective reports.
To this end, we have the following policies regarding written and telephone reports:
- We will not change any actuarial methods and assumptions based on a request from a client; and
- While we respect that legal issues are the responsibilities of the lawyers, we must caveat any instruction which we believe to be questionable. We will not provide a report in cases where we view any instruction to be inappropriate

Bell Actuarial Consulting is owned and operated by Jeremy Bell, a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries. Our offices are located in Courtenay, British Columbia.
